Academic activities create a cultural value for academic success and an environment which rewards academic achievement. In order to be a Member in Good Standing (MIG) our hermanas are required to complete a total of 15 hours of study with another hermana per semester. Study hours will be collected at the end of each month to keep track. In addition to study hours, there will be academic events offered throughout each month for our ladies/gentlemen to attend. Some academic events count towards hours. To be a MIG an hermana must attend at least two academic events per semester. Our Academic Chair for the '14-'15 year is Melissa Rojas.

Our Community Service Pillar consists of organizing and participating in community service projects by being part of, and giving back to our communities! There will be many opportunities for our hermanas to give back to the community throughout each semester. Members in Good Standing must complete at least 12 hours of community service each semester. Certain events may count for more hours. Our Community Service chair for the '14-'15 year is Kassandra Sanchez.

Social
Our third pillar is Social. Social activities provide a familial environment that facilitates opportunities for esteem building, peer advising, and mentoring! As an organization Hermanas statewide have internal social as well as external socials. Our Social Pillar is intended to help and teach how to grow in a professional setting, and do so by holding ourselves up to high standards. Members in Good Standing are required to attend a minimum or two socials per semester, which should not be a problem considering we have many planned for the upcoming year:) Our two Social Chairs for the '14-'15 year are Betty Garcia and Vanessa Gutierrez.
